Australian holsteiner stud selling up

Top Australian holsteiner breeding operation Noblewood Park Stud is downsizing and many of its horses will be sold later this year.

Owners Robynne McTaggart and Tony Trevisan said that as they are spending increasing amounts of time overseas they no longer have the time to commit to the stud as they have in previous years.

The Western Australia stud have imported top holstein bloodline from Germany, importing 20 horses from there since 1991. Noblewood Park Stud is considered one of the leading show jumping stud in Australia & it`s team of showjumpers have been highly succesfull.

Several imported mares from renowned German bloodline are among the 30 horses for sale, including Olinda (Voltaire x Lady [Lord Calando]) and her daughter Leilani (Liostro), who was imported in 1999; Lidwina (by Ramiro Z); Ciara (Collins/Jadalco); and Calvara (Caletto I - Rixa) a full sister to the stallion Calvaro Z who was ridden by Jos Lansink, and Michael and John Whitaker in his career.

Robynne McTaggart said that most of the horses would be sold privately with the remainder being auctioned later. She said the horses "boast bloodlines only found in the hallowed breeding barns in Germany and are closely related to many European, Olympic and Australasian champion horses."

Among the horses the stud is retaining are Cadence, a German state premium from stamm 776 imported in 1998, and her daughter Chanel (exp/imp), as well as Blatini`s full brother Beretta.
